Hydrocracking of Heavy Vacuum Gas Oil with Petroleum Wax

Petroleum heavy vacuum gas oil (HVGO) containing 10 wt.% of petroleum wax was hydrocracked at 390–430 °C and under the pressure 18 MPa over a Ni W/amorphous silica-alumina catalyst in continuous-flow fixed-bed reactor. The hydrocracking reference feed (neat HVGO) carried out same reaction conditions. physico-chemical properties primary products obtained via laboratory atmospheric-vacuum distillation (heavy naphtha, middle distillates residue) were evaluated. Most prepared from mixed feedstock had similar or lower density sulfur content than neat HVGO. naphtha fractions contained slightly more n-alkanes iso-alkanes less naphthenes aromatics. Similarly, aromatics cetane index higher by up to 2 units.
